LIGHTING

Halogen bulbs create enough heat to start a fire as well as increase cooling cost. Replace halogen bulbs with CFL’s to reduce cooling cost and to ensure safety.

COOLING

In the summer, ceiling fans should rotate in a counter-clockwise direction.

HEATING

Remember when heating, a constant temperature will keep heating bills lower. Avoid "Heat Blasting."

KITCHEN

Make sure refrigerator doors are closed. Also make sure the door seals are working properly. Repair seals if you feel cold air around the door.

COOLING

Use blinds and shades to cover the windows. This will block the suns radiant heat from overheating your home.

LIGHTING

Too busy to turn off lights? Kids constantly leaving lights on in unoccupied rooms? Install occupancy sensors.
